Sebastian Nowak (*1993) is a Polish violinist and laureate of numerous national and international competitions in Hinterzarten, Meissen, Lublin, Dolný Kubín, Jasło, Cracow, and Elbląg, and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across Germany, South Korea, Indonesia, Türkiye, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Romania, Austria, and Switzerland. He is a frequent guest at major festivals, with appearances at the Klangbrücken Festival Hannover, Internationale Bach-Reger-Tage Bad Langensalza, Beethoven Festival Sutri, Marschner Festival Hinterzarten, Internationales Violin Festival Junger Meister Lindau, Eurasia Festival Hannover, Beethoven The Grand Festival Jakarta and Festival di Bellagio e del Lago di Como.

As accomplished chamber musician, Sebastian is also a founding member of the Trouvaille Trio, alongside Victoria Sarasvathi and German-American cellist Timothy Hopkins. The ensemble was awarded Second Prize at the Chamber Music Competition of the Polytechnische Gesellschaft, praised for its musical sensitivity and interpretative unity.

Sebastian completed his Konzertexamen (Soloklasse) with Prof. Krzysztof Wegrzyn at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and chamber music studies with Prof. Angelika Merkle at Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main  following his earlier studies at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under Prof. Szymon Krzeszowiec.

Sebastian’s artistic development has been shaped by masterclasses with eminent musicians including Wolfgang Marschner, Tim Vogler, Storioni Trio, Martin Funda, Boris Kusnezow, MinJung Kang, Ariane Mathäus, Roland Baldini, Bartłomiej Nizioł, Günter Pichler, Oliver Wille, and Markus Becker.

He has been supported by scholarships from institutions such as the Polish Prime Minister’s Office, the Marshal of Silesia, the Pflüger Stiftung Freiburg, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover, the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, Region Hannover, Stiftung Niedersachsen and German National Scholarship Program.

Sebastian Nowak performs on a violin crafted in 1867 by Louis Joseph Germain, generously loaned to him by the Köhnecke Family of Hannover.
