Sebastian Nowak is a Polish violinist and laureate of numerous competitions in Hinterzarten, Meissen, Lublin, Dolný Kubín, Cracow. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe, Asia and Africa.
He is a frequent guest at major festivals, including the Klangbrücken Festival Hannover, Daegu Concert House Ensemble Festival, Nuovi Spazi Musicali Festival, Beethoven Festival Sutri, Marschner Festival Hinterzarten, International Violin Festival Young Masters Lindau, Eurasia Festival Hannover, The Grand Festival Jakarta and Festival di Bellagio e del Lago di Como. He performed at major concert halls such as NDR Konzerthaus, Kuppelsaal Hannover, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Warsaw Philharmonic, Daegu Concert House. His performances have been broadcast by the German public broadcaster NDR and the Italian broadcaster RAI Radio 3.
An active chamber musician, Sebastian is also a founding member of the Trouvaille Trio, alongside Victoria Sarasvathi and German-American cellist Timothy Hopkins. In 2024, the ensemble was awarded Second Prize at the Chamber Music Competition of the Polytechnische Gesellschaft in Frankfurt, where it was praised for its musical sensitivity and interpretative unity.
Sebastian completed his Konzertexamen (Soloklasse) with Prof. Krzysztof Wegrzyn at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and chamber music studies with Prof. Angelika Merkle at Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main following his earlier studies at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under Prof. Szymon Krzeszowiec.
His artistic development has been shaped through masterclasses with distinguished musicians including Wolfgang Marschner, Tim Vogler, Storioni Trio, Martin Funda, Boris Kusnezow, MinJung Kang, Ariane Mathäus, Roland Baldini, Bartłomiej Nizioł, Günter Pichler, Oliver Wille, and Markus Becker.
He has been supported by scholarships from institutions such as the Polish Prime Minister’s Office, the Marshal of Silesia, the Pflüger Stiftung Freiburg, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover, the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, Region Hannover, Stiftung Niedersachsen and German National Scholarship Program.
